Passionate fans waving flags or banners showing their support for their team of choice but have you ever wondered who makes the banners or how they are made?
Well, wonder no more, because the Newcastle Jets supporter group, the Squadron is holding a free Workshop starting from midday this Sunday at the District Park Tennis Club auditorium. Fans of all ages are welcome to come along and learn the tricks of the trade in banner and flag making.
The squadron will supply all of the materials including sewing machines so all you have to do is bring yourself. If you have your own design even better, the workshop encourages participation and creative flair.
The beauty about this workshop is that once you have designed and created your masterpiece you get to take it home or even better… take it to the next Jets home game.
The aim is to spread the colour around Hunter Stadium and not just keep it all to one area of the venue. Some of the banners around the grounds this season have been fantastic and the Squadron wants to show the rest of the country that Newcastle can produce the best flags and banners in the A-League.
There’s more than one way to show your support for your team, so come on Jets supporters show your colours with pride and get creative.
